Dean Johanesen - https://deanjohanesen.com/home Dean is a songwriter and guitarist inspired by historical fiction, speakeasy era Americana and the sounds of Hot Club Jazz, Western Swing and American Roots Music. Johanesen's recent EP titled Semi Tennessee was recorded in Nashville. Johanesen tracked at The Owl Studio with producer and bassist Shawn Byrne of Great Hill Productions and a stellar line up of musicians that really honored the Western Swing sound Dean was looking to capture. One of the most common questions I receive when performing is "what do you call your music or what is your genre?" The original music I write is inspired by artists such as Django Reinhardt & Bob Wills. Bringing back a sound from the 30's and 40's to write original music has been a great pleasure for me and seems to connect with a lot of people. It also gives me an opportunity to share my love of the artists that inspired my sound.
