Who we are
Myrtle Beach Songwriters Festival is produced by Songs That Save Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 41-4583817). Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
This policy covers this website. We are based in South Carolina, United States, and this site is operated for a United States audience.
What we collect
We only collect what you type into a form and send us. You can browse the entire site without giving us anything.
- Contact form
- Name, email address, subject, your message, and how you heard about us.
- Newsletter signup
- Email address only.
- Artist application
- Name, email, act type, stage name, hometown, genre, biography, your website and streaming/social links, a photo, video links, lodging needs, and your answers to the performance agreements.
- Volunteer signup
- First and last name, email, phone number, availability, preferred roles, relevant experience, and any questions you send us.
- Vendor application
- Business name, contact name, email, phone, website, category, description, social links, tent size, and photos of your logo and setup.
- Design contest entry
- Name, email, phone, Instagram, website, a description of your design, your vendor plans, your uploaded artwork file, and your confirmations about original work and usage rights.
- Agreement forms
- Your name and signature details, plus the date, your IP address and browser user-agent, which are recorded automatically so we have a record that the agreement was signed.
Uploaded photos and artwork are stored on our own server alongside the rest of the application.
What becomes public
If your artist or vendor application is accepted, the parts of it meant for the public — your name or stage name, photo, biography, hometown, and the website and streaming links you gave us — are published on this site. Your email address, phone number and any private notes are never published. Nothing you submit through the contact form, newsletter signup, volunteer signup or design contest is published.
How we use it
We use what you send us to run the festival: to reply to you, to review your application, to schedule performances and volunteer shifts, and to send festival news if you asked for it. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it with anyone outside the foundation except the service providers listed below, who only handle it in order to provide their service to us.
Email and unsubscribing
Every festival newsletter we send includes an unsubscribe link that removes you from the mailing list immediately — you do not need to email anyone or explain why. We may still send you direct replies and messages about an application you submitted, since those are part of the conversation you started.
Services we rely on
- PayPal — donations are processed by PayPal on PayPal’s own site. Your card and payment details go to PayPal, not to us; we never see or store them.
- Google Fonts — the site loads its typefaces from Google’s font servers, so your browser contacts Google to fetch them.
- Our email provider — the service that actually delivers the mail we send you.
Cookies, storage and server logs
This site sets no cookies and runs no advertising or third-party analytics trackers. The only thing stored in your browser is a note that you dismissed the site announcement bar, which your browser discards when you close the tab.
Our web server keeps standard access logs that record IP addresses, the pages requested and the time of the request. We use them to keep the site online and secure, and we count visits from them to see which pages are used. We also record your IP address when you submit a form, to block spam and abuse, and when you sign an agreement, as part of the signing record.
How long we keep it
Applications, messages and signups are kept for as long as they are useful for running the festival, and are removed when a festival organizer deletes them. Server access logs rotate automatically and older ones are discarded. If you want your information removed sooner, ask us and we will delete it.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Questions or requests
To see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, reach us through our contact form.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
